Clean Car Initiative
The Vice President played a pivotal role in setting up a historic new
partnership between government and industry. This strategy will
strengthen U.S. competitiveness by developing technologies for a new
generation of vehicles up to three times more fuel efficient than
today's -- a technological challenge comparable to the Apollo project.
