Environmental Justice
In February of 1994, the President signed an Executive Order on
environmental justice which will ensure that hazardous substances are
controlled in such a way that all communities receive environmental
protection regardless of race or economic circumstance. The Executive
Order requires all federal agencies to ensure that low-income and
minority communities have access to better information about their
environment and to have an opportunity to participate in shaping
government policies that affect their community's health.
